West it is! They'll both wander a little around the west side of Yiling Ridge, keeping an eye out for anything. At the entrance to one of the alleyways, they'll spot two men standing around vibing.
They're hidden somewhat in the shadow of the alley's mouth, with heads down and hats low, talking. One is smoking a cigarette. They'll both look up from under their hats, though, at Wen Ning and Emma; they don't take their eyes away.
When they're in earshot, one man says, "Lookin' for something?"
Wow they sure are! Wen Ning will inform them they're actually looking for a cat, which they're quite worried about after hearing about rumors about the area getting more dangerous... they're hoping to find it and get it inside before anything happens. :( Have they seen him. :(
Emma is helping by calling for their fake-ass made up cat she immediately names Oliver. Oliver are you here....
If these men haven't seen their cat, they haven't seen anything else they ought to worry about, have they?
A cat, huh? Both of the men exchange glances, and the one with the cigarette drops it to crush it underfoot.
"No pussycat here," one says.
Both of them sort of step out of the mouth of the alley, surrounding Wen Ning and Emma from different sides, circling them. They're dressed pretty nicely, very Xian Le style.
"You sure you ain't lookin' for a dog?" the other one asks. "Because you're barking up the wrong tree."
Do Wen Ning and Emma:
A ) run B ) stand up to them C ) invoke the name of xie lian to scare them
but it's B! Emma isn't going to do anything physical unless they act first, but she's deciding their move here by standing her ground, insulting them, and telling them to go away! Sometimes you're 5'0" and want to fight the entire world, and that's valid.
Meanwhile Wen Ning is just going to shift so that his back's to Emma and therefore neither of them will get mcbackstabbed by the guys circling them-- he's going to support her in this and is ready to react/grab his weapon if he's gotta, but he's also not going to strike first.
The men exchange glances again. Who is this broad trying to square up with them? One of the men laugh. It looks like they're ready for a fight, though! They fall in on Wen Ning and Emma, but don't draw any guns or knives. It's all fists for the both of them, and the whole thing reeks of the beat-down that went on in the alley before.
But Emma and Wen Ning hold up a good fight! They come out of it with scrapes and bruises, the worst no more than soreness and a bad headache, maybe a loose tooth. The men get startled by their skill and end up forfeiting in the end. They flee, and they're fast in knowing the shortcuts.
What they do leave behind in the scuffle, though, is a small piece of paper. On it is written:
drop off thurs, fri
girls - $150 boys - $90 women - $100
That's it for this investigation! Let us know if you have any questions!
