Personality: Well meaning but deeply insecure, Hunter usually takes a follower position in a group rather than a leading role. He's a fairly friendly person, so it isn't difficult to get along with him, and he's very loyal to the people he's close to. As long as he thinks a course of action will help people, he'll easily go along with it. This can lead to him being tricked or taken advantage of, especially since he's fairly trusting towards people who haven't actively displayed any ill will. In addition, he has a tendency to distrust himself and his own capabilities; he's actively frightened of situations where he has responsibility or agency, because he thinks that he'll mess up or let other people down if given the chance.
Apart from this, Hunter is an avid fan of pop culture; one of his defining traits is that he tends to understand situations in terms of media he's consumed. There are times he'll only grasp what someone is saying if they compare a situation to a film or TV show, and he references these frequently as well. At one point, when reflecting on a near death experience, he said that he was most upset he wouldn't be able to see the ending of one of his favorite TV shows in the moment.
Motivations: Hunter's motivations are fairly simple. He's a good natured and kind person; he wants all of his friends to be happy and safe, and he's happy playing a supportive role to make sure that happens. The people he cares about factor into his motivations in another way - he wants to be included and valued, somebody that people can trust and care for. This ties into his feelings of self doubt; he wants to be the kind of person who doesn't disappoint people, or make mistakes that let others down. He's also the kind of person who seeks out information about every situation he's put in; he isn't easily satisfied if he doesn't understand the things that are happening around him, and he tends to get frustrated when people aren't forthcoming with information or their intentions.
