Background/History: Kano, Canon (more routes stuff)
It's been almost a full year and I think I can reasonably explain Kagepro timelines now, but please don't make me.
Personality: Generally, Kano takes things in stride, able to laugh in the middle of serious situations and find amusement in most anything, leading people to believe he's somebody cheerful and easy-going, always in control of the situation, all to lighten the mood so others don't panic or worry. He's been living like this from a very young age, constantly putting up fronts to the point that he has no true sense of self, identifying his existence with pain and nothing else, and where he cannot even trust his own self because everything about him is fabricated. Underneath the mask, he's serious and perceptive, the person who acts most like the leader of the Mekakushi Dan because he's the one who drives them to action, the one who makes the first move when everybody else hesitates because doing so gives him the illusion of control, and breaks the ice for everybody to follow. With little to no self esteem, Kano dedicates his life to his family and friends, taking on dangers so they don't have to, and sacrificing himself to keep everybody safe— or even just to buy them a few more seconds in an otherwise futile end. With a life that is nothing but tragedy after tragedy, Kano spurns God and spurns the world, living out of spite and against his will, but he refuses to be broken because he hasn't lost everything: he still has his found family, and for them, he'll take on the role of the Fool.
Motivations: Kano is motivated by one thing: his family. The rest of the world can burn for all he cares, as long as he can keep his family safe. When he was a child, his mother was literally everything to him, and he wished to hide his wounds and took on a burglar with a knife all to keep his neighbors from gossiping about his mother abusing him, and now it's under the threat of having his remaining family killed that Kano works under the series' antagonist, dirtying his hands with murder and deception, etc. while never being able to tell any of his family or friends. He'll do almost anything to keep his family and friends safe and happy, even if it's immoral, because he has no personal aspirations for the future, so they're all he has to live for. He's here to pretend to have a good time.
Powers/Abilities: He just has one power, his eye ability that changes people's perception of what he looks like.
