Akira and Kino mosey around the glass cases. The cases are filled with the usual assortment for accessories--it's not quite a jewelry store per say, but there's a good handful of jewels scattered around. One case has nothing but a selection of padlocks inside, some with different designs.
At the other counter, the woman waves her hand dismissively at something the man is showing her. "Ew, not that one," she says. "That slimeball Baren had one of those." It looks like some kind of elegant comb as the man puts it back inside the case. The woman taps her finger on the glass over something else. "That one." And the man pulls out a glimmery (somewhat gaudy) gemstone belt.
The woman sets three hefty stacks of tied together cash on the counter. It really looks like a lot of money! She whips it out like it's nothing, and the husband and wife exchange a sort of surprised glance. But they accept, of course, and the woman waits while the man wraps the belt in a box for her. She seems pleased with herself, though she does give Akira and Kino a kind of snooty appraisal.
Do they want to:
A ) Confront her in the store? B ) Wait until she leaves an follow?
After a few minutes, the man comes back with a very nicely wrapped box, the belt inside. They exchange gift and money, and then the woman turns to leave. The couple don't seem to mind Akira and Kino's departure a bit after. They're having to organize the big stack of bills!
The woman leaves the shop to get into a car with a man. They don't drive very fast, so Akira and Kino can actually keep up relatively easily; the only downside is they drive from Middleton to Westside. She seems to be busy telling him something with flicking gestures, and also trying to get herself into the belt she bought.
In Westside, they pull up to a warehouse guarded by two men. One of them has a Thompson gun, but the other isn't so heavily armed. They talk to the man and woman in the car before whistling for the large doors to open and let them through.
From this distance, Akira and Kino can't really make out a whole lot inside. There's some glittering along both the right and left, something metal, as light hits it before the doors shut again. For now, it seems too dangerous to try to do anything except look and remember. The guards don't even have a hole when they shift in rotation to another set.
That's all for this investigation, for now! Please let us know if you have any questions!
