Character Names: 9S, Shigure Location: Down by the river, circa floating head Actions Taken: Shigure's gotta FISH UP THAT BODY before it floats out to sea(??) and 9S will see him and jump in to help. 9S will sink to the floor of the river so he can try to grab it from that angle and Shigure will hopefully be able to stay up higher and not get his wounds in corpse water.
The corpse is BEING CARRIED RIGHT DOWN THE RIVER and seems to be wearing a lot of black, which can make it hard to get the details of its current state! However they will indeed get it to stop a bit more downstream -

NOT. OF COURSE THEY'RE GONNA FISH IT OUT!! They'll chase it as far as they need to until 9S can grab onto it and haul it up, climbing up the side of the river and probably agitating his shoulder injury (it's fine) until he can get the body high enough for Shigure to drag it out of the water. And then, of course, they'll try to examine it!
The guy's missing an arm, as well as his head! The right arm, apparently.
So that's something. That's immediately apparent as they examine it. Walk me through their order of operations and I'll give you the state of the body!
They'll look to identify the body via the clothes, then what's in the clothes, then what's under the clothes, which is to say that Shigure will be happy to strip the body while 9S watches, mortified. They'll also check for other injuries and markings on the body!
Also I guess Shigure HAS THE HEAD DURING ALL THIS and that's not really relevant yet I feel it's important all the same.
DID THEY LEAVE WWX IN THE RIVER, NO HEAD NO BODY NO HOPE.

The clothes are rather luxurious - with fine silk lining of the suit! Seems like my man's has moneyyyy. Or. Had. Underneath his clothes, there's not a whole lot to find given that he was straight up decapitated and also his arm is gone! For what it's worth, the slices where the body parts should be are pretty clean! Looks like someone knew what they were doing.
OOPSIE DAISY - One more thing!! There's a gun holster on the guy's left leg!
Imagine if I gave you a wrong head for the wrong body.
1. Yes, the severance wound on the neck should match up with both parts! 2. Not to 9S or Shigure! :^) The people who would recognize the body have been notified.
Nope! The body was the bulk of what they were able to receive for this investigation - just for the sake of dividing up stuff so that everyone gets a chance at something!
